Urban Decay Naked Smokey Palette. First impression and Swatches

I’m a tad late on the band wagon as I’ve always been hesitate to try the Urban Decay naked palettes. I don’t actually know why but they haven’t been something on my must have list because they are quite expensive. Until Black Friday when they had 50% off of the Naked Smokey palette on Mecca making it $41.00 AUS.

I was pleasantly surprised by the packaging as in photos they do look quite cheap and nasty whereas in person it is sturdy and amazing to hold in your hand. I absolutely love the detail Urban Decay went to with this palette compared to the original Naked palettes, the Smokey detailing on the front of the packaging and through the brush handle is stunning! The One thing that I would change is the eyeshadow pan shape. I much prefer the pans of eyeshadows being square of circle rather then the long rectangular but that’s personal preference.

The eyeshadows have three different formulas with four shades for each, Shimmer, satin and matte. I’m excited to try the brush because from just feeling it I think the quality is great whereas a lot of the time I don’t like the brush that comes with palettes.

Now onto the eyeshadows themselves just from them being swatched I would say the mattes are my favourite formula they were buttery and soft to touch and look as though they would be easy to blend. The shimmers and satin shades did need a couple of swipes for colour pay off but were buildable. I’m super excited to try the palette out on the eyes!

Let me know if you’d like to see a eye look with this palette in the comments 🙂

Much Love Ella xx
